A pop star, sophisticated and mysterious.

Glamorous, aloof, mysterious. You may wish to adopt a slightly foreign accent.

An enigmatic and charismatic singer.

According to your PR, your mother was a Russian countess who married a French fisherman - this may not be entirely true.

You first became famous as the girlfriend of Lord Michael Jagged.

Since the end of that relationship, you've become a successful pop star.

Please don't discuss anything on this page with anyone attending.

Full-length skirt with matching waistcoat in a rich purple or plum; blouse with high-cut armholes and wildly flaring sleeves.

The better your costume, the easier it is to stay in character. And there are prizes!!

Important Info - Gameplay

What's the whole idea?

Prove your innocence by interrogating your fellow suspects until the murderer is exposed.

A successful murder mystery requires players to arrive prepared to be in character. We have meticulously planned the logistics and events of the night but we have also left plenty of room for ad-lib!

You don't have to be an accomplished actor to be successful and have fun tonight.

As an introvert myself, I promise you can be as involved as you want. The more the better, of course, but introverts can easily play and have fun with this scenario.

We have a unique murder mystery scenario, but it would be best if you don't do any research on your own beforehand. All of the steps and information will be provided for you. Just arrive and have fun!

Storyline

As you gather for dinner on Sunday evening, the shocking news is brought to you by the Scotland Yard detective, Austin McClue: Lord Michael is dead. Maybe even murdered.

And if he was murdered, one - or more - of you was responsible. Your task is to identify the murderer. Or, of course, to evade detection.

Prizes

We'll have prizes for:

1. Best Costume

2. Best Detective

3. Best Actor

4. Best Murderer

Rules of the game

  1. You must not show your custom character booklet (provided when you arrive) to other guests and must wait until instructed by us, the hosts, before reading past the STOP notices.
  2. When questioned, you cannot lie, though you may be evasive. If challenged directly, however, you must tell the whole truth. At some point in the game, the murderer will be informed in their booklet that he or she has committed the crime, and given information to help them avoid detection.
  3. The Rounds - there are three rounds. When everyone has revealed necessary information, the round will end. The host will speak at the end of rounds 1 and 2 and help sum up what you have learned.
  4. The Dialogues - there are three dialogues, one at the start of each round. These are to be acted out with as much expression and accent as you can muster for your character. Be aware that these dialogues will reveal some interesting details about you and your fellow suspects!
  5. Your opinion about the murderer's identity must be saved until the end of Round 3.

motive, means and opportunity

During a murder investigation, a detective must answer three questions:

Motive

Who had a reason to kill the victim? Does any particular person benefit - financially or romantically - from the victim's death?

Means

Who had access to the murder weapon? Does any particular person have the unique knowledge, skill or physical ability necessary to use the murder weapon?

Opportunity

Who had a chance to kill the victim? Is any particular person unaccounted for (has no alibi) during the time the victim was killed?

Your challenge is to use the three elements to form a hypothesis about the murder, which will result in an accusation. Keep these questions in mind as you pursue your investigation. Good luck!
